The ELWD Reflective Elastic Light Short is a lightweight stretch-fabric work short with a silicone-grip elastic waistband and genuine 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective 8910 Tape sewn through the pocket seams, so it meets AS/NZS 1906.4:2010 hi-vis site requirements without the stiffness of a traditional canvas short.
Why we built it
Traditional heavy canvas work shorts hold up well but trap heat and restrict movement, especially in warmer conditions or when climbing in and out of a ute. Elastic-waist alternatives solve the comfort problem but usually can't hold the weight of tools and a phone without sagging, and reflective tape on most shorts is rigid enough to bind when you bend or squat. The Reflective Elastic Light Short was designed to address all three at once.
What it's made of
- Activemax 360 stretch fabric: lightweight and breathable, engineered for abrasion resistance on site.
- Silicone-grip elastic waistband: a drawcord with a silicone-lined grip designed to hold its position under the load of tools and a phone in the pockets.
- 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective 8910 Tape, Biomotion pattern: routed through the pocket seams rather than laid rigidly across the leg, for freedom of movement while squatting or climbing.
- Reinforced construction: triple-needle stitching, double bartack stitching at high-stress points, and double-layered pocket bags.
- UPF 50+ sun protection, rated to AS/NZS 4399.
